Hazaribag, Feb.27: Chouparan block development officer (BDO) Premchand Kumar virtually attended a high-level meeting chaired by Prime minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
Notably, Kumar was one of the 15 BDOs from 13 states who got this opportunity.
Kumar said the theme of this meeting was to take the benefits of government to the last man present in the society in the aspirational blocks of 27 states and the four union territories.
As soon as the meeting ended, Kumar talked to Lagatar24.com and said that this webinar was organised by the rural development ministry government of India which was attended by five union ministers and chaired by PM Modi.
He added that the theme of the webinar was the saturation of essential government services across multiple domains. Kumar said on lines of aspirational districts, now union government has selected 500 aspirational blocks focusing on six subjects in the webinar including PM PVTG development mission, aspirational block program, support for poor prisoners, teachers recruitment for Eklavya Model residential school, PM Awas Yojana and sickle cell anaemia elimination mission.
He said that the PM addressed the webinar for 20 to 25 minutes but talked about all six subjects to their effective implementation as well. For all these plans which are to be launched in aspirational blocks, funds are also allocated.
According to Kumar, they got tips from the PM as to how to take the government schemes among people in inaccessible areas.
Sources said the PM ordered officers that like 112 aspirational districts, now 500 aspirational blocks have been selected for their development.
Moreover, Jharkhand’s 34 blocks are on this list. PM Modi said blocks should compete with each other in implementing government schemes in aspirational blocks to give maximum benefits to people.
