Chatra, April.21: 14-year-old shooter Aditya Kumar, a student of Std-9th who qualified for the national championship has been adopted by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) with the coal company giving him Rs 4lakh financial help and ordered an expensive rifle for him as well. Aditya thanked Chatra MP Sunil Kumar Singh, on whose initiative CCL adopted him.
Aditya has so far won a gold medal in the district championship, and fourth place in the state level tournament besides qualifying for the national tournament. But Aditya was facing financial problems in getting the best Olympic rifle for himself which is very expensive. For this, he said he met Singh who assured all help to him. “Because of him, CCL ordered an Olympic rifle for me and now it has reached India from abroad,” he said. CCL also helped him by giving Rs 4lakh and promising to help him in every possible way in achieving the target.
Nitish Kumar, Aditya’s coach who is also the secretary of Chatra’s rifle shooting club said CCL came forward in helping the young player by funding him as well as ordering the best Olympic rifle from Germany. I came to know from officials that the rifle has reached India and very soon, it will be in the hands of Aditya, added he. Aditya has big dreams to make his state and India proud and now CCL will help him in achieving this, added he.
