Hazaribag, April 24: Miscreants set ablaze one SUV and a car of Vijay Mehta in the posh Deepugarha locality of the city in the wee hours of Monday. Mehta complained to the police in writing requesting the arrest of those behind this act.
Mehta, a native of Ratanpur village in Ichak block, is living near Hitech Nursery in the Deepugarha locality for the last many years. He said both vehicles were parked close to the nursery. He said at 1 AM, he woke up due to the sound of a bursting. “I ran outside and saw my SUV and car in flames. As flames engulfed tyres, they started bursting one after another,” he said.
Mehta said he informed the Korra police who came there and doused the flames. But by that time, his vehicles were gutted completely. He said he was not knowing as who was behind this. CCTV cameras are installed around this place and now he is trying to get the footage, he added.
The Korra police said they have received the complaint and started their investigation to reach the culprits. “We will first check the CCTV footage,” added they. The place where this incident took place is near the official residence of the Hazaribag SP.
