New Delhi, July 6: Amid the Opposition front uniting against Bharatiya Janata Party for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav took a jibe at PM Narendra Modi saying the next Prime Minister ‘should not be without a wife’, reports Live Mint.

Speaking to reporters, as ANI quoted, Lalu Prasad Yadav said, “Whoever becomes the PM should not be without a wife. Staying at PM residence without a wife is wrong. This should be done away with…”

Before this, Lalu Prasad advised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to get married, as he is seen as one of the probable candidates for PM face from Opposition.

Among other things, when asked about number of seats the Opposition alliance would get, Lalu Prasad said, “At least 300 seats.”

Commenting on PM Modi’s statement that no corrupt person will be spared, to this Lalu Prasad said Narendra Modi is the convenor of corrupt politicians, citing the example of Maharashtra politics where NCP was split into two sections on 2 July — Sharad Pawar front and Ajit Pawar front.

Earlier on 23 June, 17 parties and their representatives gathered in Patna to showcase the Opposition unity. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal on 3 July said that the date for the next opposition meeting will be declared soon, adding the meeting will certainly take place before the Monsoon Session of the Parliament begins.
