Paris, July 14: French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at the main stage after receiving a guard of honour on Friday as the spectacular celebrations for Bastille Day got underway in Paris’ Champs-Élysées.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending the parade as the Guest of Honour.

For the great celebrations, Champs-Élysées was decorated in the French flag’s colours of red, blue and white.

Macron met Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he arrived at the event, and the two leaders then gave each other an affectionate hug. Additionally, he spoke with other dignitaries in attendance.

With soldiers marching behind him in jeeps, horses, and bikes, Macron arrived in an open vehicle. Additionally, he waved to the crowd who had gathered to see the procession on France’s National Day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed at the Bastille Day Parade in Paris by First Lady of France Brigitte Macron and Prime Minister of France Elisabeth Borne.

In a traditional off-white kurta and pyjama with a navy blue jacket, PM Modi made his way to the Champs-Elysees.

The Bastille Day Parade includes a contingent from the Indian tri-services. In addition, three Rafale fighter planes from the Indian Air Force also took part in the Bastille Day flypast over Paris’ Champs Elysees.
