Dumka, July 16: After Ranchi, now in Dumka Central Jail, today on Sunday, an undertrial prisoner tried to commit suicide by cutting the vein of his throat and hand. Mohammad Ahmed Ali (33 years) has been admitted to the prisoner ward of the Medical College Hospital, where his condition is said to be critical.
According to the information, on Sunday morning all the prisoners were busy in their respective works. Meanwhile, Mohammad Ahmed Ali took the opportunity and cut the veins of his neck and both hands with a sharp object. On bleeding, the prisoners working nearby informed the jailer about it. In a hurry, the entire jail team reached the spot and admitted the prisoner to the prisoner ward of the hospital where his condition remains critical.
