J&K: Two terrorists killed in Kupwara as army foils infiltration bid

Kupwara, July 19: In a joint operation, security forces in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, killed two terrorists, the Indian Army reported on Wednesday.

The joint operation, which included the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF) and Jammu and Kashmir police, was started along the Line of Control in Macchal Sector, Kupwara, according to the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army.

“Op Khakhi Patch, Macchal #Kupwara. In a Joint Operation launched by #IndianArmy, @BSF_India & @JmuKmrPolice, an infiltration bid was foiled today morning by alert troops along LOC in Macchal Sector, Kupwara. 02 x Terrorists eliminated & 04 x AK Rifles, 06 x Hand Grenades & other war-like stores have been recovered. Ops in progress,” the Indian Army said in a tweet.

More information is awaited.

Four militants were killed earlier on Tuesday during a clash with security personnel.

In the Sindhara neighbourhood of Poon, a joint operation involving the Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir police and the Indian Army’s Special Forces was carried out.
