Jamshedpur, Sept 4: Several isolated pockets of Jharkhand will continue to experience thundershowers and lightning for the next 48 hours.
Earlier, IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre had predicted thundershowers and lightning till today, September 4. The alert was today extended for another two days.
Several places across the state, including Jamshedpur on Sunday experienced thundershowers and lightning. One or two places also experienced heavy rain.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to run along the foothills of the
Himalayas, said weathermen.
The cyclonic circulation over Northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood was extending upto 4.5 Km above mean sea level tilting south-westwards with height.
September is the last monsoon month. The rain deficit so far in the state stood at 36 per cent.
Weathermen said unless it rains heavily and the rainfall activity has to be widespread it would be difficult to make up for the deficit.
