Kolkata, Sept 5: Nusrat Jahan, a Bengali film actress and Trinamool Congress MP has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in relation to an alleged flat sale scam. She has received a summons to attend the ED office in Kolkata on September 12.

After BJP leader Shankudeb Panda filed a complaint stating that Trinamool Congress MP Jahan had defrauded people out of Rs 5.5 lakh by promising to sell them flats, the Enforcement Directorate opened a probe against Jahan.

According to the complaint, Nusrat Jahan was the director of Seven Sense International, a real estate company that obtained money from 429 employees of the Indian Overseas Bank by offering them 1,000 square feet apartments on Kolkata outskirts.

Panda alleged that they haven’t received a flat or their money back as of yet.

Jahan, however, earlier claimed that she had left the company in 2017, denying the claims.

As per ED sources, along with Nusrat Jahan, Rakesh Singh, the company’s director, and Ruplekha Mitra, another senior official, have also received summons.”

A case was also brought against Jahan and others in Kolkata’s Alipore court for defrauding and dishonestly procuring the delivery of property, criminal breach of trust, and actions committed by numerous individuals with a shared goal. Jahan was also sent with a summons, but she failed to show up in court.
