Coimbatore, Sept 21: K Annamalai, the president of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, stated on Thursday that there is no problem between his party and the AIADMK.
Additionally, he stated that he had no issues with any AIADMK leader.
The “common thread” among similar-minded parties within the NDA is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and anyone who endorses his candidacy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is part of the NDA coalition, he stated. “Does the AIADMK accept it? Yes,” Annamalai said.
He told reporters here that everyone who has embraced Modi’s leadership should band together.
The BJP leader emphasized that he did not make derogatory remarks about the Dravidian icon and late Chief Minister C N Annadurai. Instead, he had simply recounted an incident from 1956. Therefore, he asserted that there is no need for him to issue an apology.
During his time as chief minister in 1998, the late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi recalled the same occurrence, he said.
He said there are ideological differences between the AIADMK and the BJP, but these disagreements are not uncommon and are not particularly significant. “What is important is the common thread, which is Prime Minister Modi and the AIADMK stands for a united nation with a strong leadership to lead it,” he added.
