New Delhi, Oct 9: In response to a plea for a CBI inquiry into the deaths of two IIT students in Delhi earlier this year, the Delhi High Court has sent a notice to the Center.

These incidents occurred in the months of July and September 2023.

The Delhi Police were ordered by the High Court to provide the status report. A hearing regarding the matter is scheduled for October 19.

According to Delhi police, a fourth-year B. Tech student at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room in July 2023. The individual who passed away was recognized as Ayush (20) and hailed from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

A similar event occurred on September 1 when a 21-year-old B. Tech final-year student at the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi committed suicide, police stated. Police reported that the B.Tech student was on an extension because he had failed some exams.
