Dhanbad, Oct 27: The Post Graduate Teachers’ Association (PGTA) of  Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) welcomed and felicitated the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor Dr PK  Poddar in his chamber and assured him of full cooperation in implementing development projects in the institution.

The PG teachers under president Dr Bhagwan Pathak and general secretary Dr DK Singh congratulated Dr Poddar on his new assignment and expressed hope that under his leadership the six-year-old BBMKU will touch new heights soon.

“Teachers have high hopes from the new vice-chancellor.  We expect research works, academic activities, and the campus environment will get new wings under his administration.  We also assured him of all types of cooperation from our side. Teachers’ body is committed to supporting him in the development of the university as well as students,” said Dr DK Singh.

Earlier, a delegation of the PG commerce and management department teachers under HoD Dr Ajit Kumar met the vice-chancellor in his chamber and congratulated him. The delegation comprising Dr BN Sinha and Dr Nakul Prasad expressed hope that the new vice-chancellor would guide the university on the right path of development so that it can achieve the mission of a separate university.

Commerce department teachers felicitate new VC

Felicitation of new Vice-Chancellor Dr Poddar by the PG teachers keeps significance in the university circle as the relation between Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi (outgoing VC) and the PG teachers body was not congenial. The PG  teachers were on a confrontation course with the then Vice-Chancellor for keeping them in lock and key on the campus during duty hours.

However, the teachers feel that the attitude of Dr Poddar is different from the sacked  Vice-Chancellor (Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi).

The PG teachers who felicitated the new vice-chancellor in his chamber were DSW Dr Pushpa Kumari, Dr K Bandopadhyay, Dr Amita Verma, Dr Kavita Singh, Dr Leelawati Verma, Dr RK Tiwari, Dr  Sharmila Banerjee, Dr Tapti Chakravorty, Dr Joygopal Mandal, Dr Munmun Sharan, Dr Amulya Suman Baig, Dr Umesh Kumar, Dr Jitendra Aryan, Dr Krishna Murari, Dr Manas Acharya, Dr Tanuja Kumari, Dr Matin, Dr Gauri Munda, Dr Anil Kumar Singh, Dr Rita Singh, Dr Mritunjay Kumar Singh, Dr Atul Kumar Sinha, and Dr Sonam Bharti.
