Kolkata: New details have surfaced in the horrifying rape and murder case at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, revealing that the main accused, Sanjay Roy, had been stalking the victim a day before the crime. CCTV footage from the hospital’s chest medicine ward shows Roy, a 33-year-old civic volunteer, glaring menacingly at the 31-year-old doctor and four of her junior colleagues on August 8.

According to sources, Roy later confessed to the Kolkata police that he had followed the victim around the hospital premises on that day. The footage clearly captures him leering at the group, foreshadowing the heinous crime that would occur the next day.

The sequence of events leading up to the tragedy reveals that the victim went to rest in the hospital’s seminar hall at 1 am on August 9. She was last seen alive at 2:30 am when a junior doctor spoke with her. Tragically, she was found dead the next morning.

CCTV evidence further implicates Sanjay Roy, showing him entering the hospital premises around 4 am on the day of the crime. His behavior, now under intense scrutiny by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been described as disturbing by experts. A psychoanalytic profiling, conducted at the CBI’s request, revealed that Roy is a pervert with severe porn addiction and an “animal-like instinct,” according to a CBI officer.

Shockingly, Roy displayed no signs of nervousness or remorse during his interrogation. An officer involved in the case recounted that Roy detailed the crime without hesitation, showing a complete lack of repentance. His arrest was secured through crucial evidence, including CCTV footage and a Bluetooth headset found at the crime scene.

The autopsy of the victim confirmed that she had been raped and then strangled, with 16 external and 9 internal injuries documented on her body. The victim’s father has alleged that more than one person may have been involved in the brutal attack.

In response to the growing controversy and criticism, the CBI is considering subjecting Roy, along with Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar hospital, and four other doctors, to a polygraph test to uncover more details about the crime.

Adding to the tension, the Supreme Court has harshly criticized the West Bengal government and police for a 14-hour delay in registering the FIR, further complicating the investigation into this deeply unsettling case.
