Ranchi: Jharkhand Police has issued an official statement refuting claims of a reduction in the security provided to former Chief Minister Champai Soren. The statement confirms that Soren is currently protected by 63 security personnel and five vehicles, with no reduction in his Z-plus security status.

According to the police headquarters, Champai Soren continues to receive security in line with his designated security category. “The former CM has been provided Z-plus security (without ASL),” the statement read. Additionally, the police clarified that his son, Baboolal Soren, and his advisor Dharmendra Goswami are also provided bodyguards as per security protocols.

Adequate Security Personnel and Vehicles

The police further elaborated that Champai Soren is protected by a total of 63 police officers and personnel. Baboolal Soren has been assigned two bodyguards, while Dharmendra Goswami has three bodyguards and a residential guard. In total, 73 security personnel are deployed for the protection of Soren and his family.

Vehicle Allocation Clarified

Following Soren’s resignation as Chief Minister, he was initially provided with seven vehicles, which included three Fortuners, one Scorpio, one Safari, and two Gypsies. Of these, the Fortuners and Scorpio were part of the Chief Minister’s convoy, which remained with him after his resignation but were later recalled for official use. Currently, Champai Soren is allocated five vehicles for his personal security.

The Jharkhand Police reiterated that Champai Soren’s security arrangements remain robust and sufficient, with no reductions made.
