Ranchi: The INDIA alliance is facing internal conflict over seat-sharing arrangements ahead of the elections, with tensions highest in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) camp. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress have agreed to allot only seven seats to RJD, causing dissatisfaction within the party. On Sunday, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Manoj Jha held a crucial meeting at Hotel Radisson Blu to address the issue, heightening speculation about a possible breakthrough.

Initially, the RJD had called for a press conference at 11 am, later postponing it to 3 pm, sparking anticipation within the INDIA bloc. While Tejashwi’s meeting with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Congress leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir yesterday eased some tension, the final resolution remains to be seen.

CPI-ML Stands Firm on Seat Demand

The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) is determined to secure four seats in the alliance. Despite initially demanding five, the party lost the Jamua seat after sitting MLA Kedar Hazra joined JMM, but remains insistent on securing Nirsa, Bagodar, Dhanwar, and Sindri.

CPI and CPM May Be Left Out

Sources suggest that CPI and CPM are unlikely to be included in the alliance, as CPI-ML consolidates its position following the merger of the Marxist Coordination Committee (MASS) into the party.

Joint INDIA Bloc Press Conference Expected

The INDIA alliance is expected to hold a joint press conference later today to finalize seat-sharing and make formal announcements regarding candidate selections. Political parties may announce their candidates either tonight or by tomorrow.
