Jharkhand High Court’s First Chief Justice VK Gupta Passes Away

Ranchi: Former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court and Himachal Pradesh High Court, Justice Vinod Kumar Gupta (VK Gupta), has passed away after a prolonged illness. He breathed his last on February 15.

His last rites will be performed today (Sunday) in Delhi. Justice VK Gupta was born on September 10, 1947, and was 78 years old at the time of his passing.

His demise has sent shockwaves through the legal fraternity. Justice Gupta was appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court on November 15, 2000, following the state’s formation.
