Chennai: The Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is set to host a grand Mahashivratri celebration on February 26, 2025. The event will witness the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with other dignitaries. The center has released an official statement confirming the details.

As part of the celebrations, Sadhguru, the founder of Isha Yoga Center, will unveil a free meditation app on this occasion. Amit Shah will participate in the event at the Adiyogi statue in the presence of Sadhguru.

Prominent Guests to Attend

The all-night event will commence at 6 PM on February 26 and conclude at 6 AM the following morning. Several high-profile guests, including Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, governors from various states, and Union ministers, will be present.

The Isha Yoga Center, located 40 kilometers from Coimbatore, is nestled at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains and is known for its spiritual and meditative environment.

Mahashivratri and the Story of Ravana

Renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and Sadhguru’s daughter, Radhe Jaggi, has revealed that this year’s celebration will include a special storytelling segment on Ravana.

She stated, “Many people only recognize Ravana as the villain of the Ramayana. However, in Indian culture, characters are not seen as entirely good or entirely evil. Ravana is a prime example—while he was greedy, lustful, and power-driven, he was also one of the greatest devotees of Lord Shiva.”
