Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched over 30 Fateh hypersonic missiles on Tel Aviv Wednesday night, intensifying the already devastating conflict with Israel. The high-speed missile attack left multiple areas in central and southern Israel in flames, while Israeli forces responded with heavy bombing raids across Tehran.
Operation True Promise III targets Israel’s defense
Iran’s military claims this marks a strategic turning point, as the missiles successfully penetrated Israel’s Iron Dome. The strikes were reportedly carried out under “Operation True Promise III,” beginning at 12:40 AM local time. IRGC says the attack was aimed at disrupting Israel’s military balance. In response, Israeli fighter jets targeted missile production centers and strategic zones in Tehran and Karaj. Internet blackouts were reported in several districts, and emergency warnings were issued for civilians to take shelter.
Trump issues ultimatum, threatens Iranian leadership
U.S. President Donald Trump, reacting to the escalation, demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender.” Posting on Truth Social, Trump warned Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei directly and said, “We know where he is hiding.” He hinted at imminent U.S. military involvement, stating America’s patience was wearing thin. Meanwhile, the U.S. has deployed 30 aerial tankers to Europe and ordered the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier toward the Gulf. Troops in UAE, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia have also been placed on high alert.
Global fears rise as conflict escalates
With over 585 civilians dead in Iran and 24 fatalities in Israel so far, the war has triggered fears of a broader regional or even global conflict. Khamenei declared, “The battle begins,” calling for no mercy on Israel. Analysts warn that if diplomacy fails, the Iran-Israel conflict could spiral into a global security crisis, drawing in superpowers and shaking world markets.
