New Delhi: A 39-year-old man has been booked in Delhi’s Hauz Qazi area for allegedly raping his mother multiple times after accusing her of having a “bad character.” The shocking case came to light after the survivor, accompanied by her daughter, filed a complaint at the local police station.
Accusations and Background
According to police, the accused, identified as Md Firoz alias Suhel, confronted his 72-year-old father during a pilgrimage trip to Saudi Arabia in late July, demanding he divorce his wife over claims of “bad character.” After the family’s return on August 1, the mother alleged that her son sexually assaulted her and attempted further attacks in the following days, forcing her to temporarily seek refuge at her daughter’s in-laws’ house.
Repeated Assaults and Investigation
On August 11, the accused allegedly locked his mother in a room, threatened her with a knife and scissors, and raped her again. Another assault occurred on August 14, which finally led the victim to approach the police despite initial fear and shame. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police confirmed that the accused, a graduate but unemployed, is under investigation while the survivor, an illiterate housewife, is married to a retired government employee.
