Ranchi: The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Jharkhand over the next two days, with a clear advisory urging residents to remain cautious. The alert comes as a well-marked low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is moving towards Odisha, bringing the possibility of widespread rain across several districts of the state.
Districts Likely To Be Affected
On August 29, heavy rainfall is expected in Dumka, Godda, Pakur, Sahebganj, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts. The following day, August 30, districts including Latehar, Lohardaga, Bokaro, Gumla, Khunti, Ranchi, and Ramgarh are likely to receive heavy showers.
Warning Issued For Thunderstorms And Lightning
The department has cautioned that thunderstorms accompanied by winds of 30-40 km/h may occur during this period. Incidents of lightning are also possible, raising the need for extra precaution, especially in rural and open areas.

Authorities have appealed to people to stay alert and adopt necessary safety measures. Residents are advised to avoid venturing into waterlogged areas, seek shelter during lightning, and keep updated with local weather advisories for timely action.
