Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has issued a significant directive during the hearing of the writ petition Priyanka Kumari & Others vs. Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission regarding the recruitment of secondary teachers (Advertisement No. 02/2025).
Confusion Over B.Ed Eligibility in Subject Specialization
The court has asked JSSC to clarify whether a general B.Ed. degree is acceptable for appointment or if a B.Ed. specifically in Computer Science is required. Advocate Chanchal Jain, representing the petitioners, argued that the advertisement lacks clarity and imposes an impractical condition, particularly for Computer Science, where no formal B.Ed. program exists.
JSSC Directed to File Clarification
Following these arguments, the court directed JSSC to submit a detailed clarification on the matter. The next hearing is scheduled for September 15, 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill approximately 1,300 vacancies for secondary teachers across the state.
