Patna: As preparations for the Bihar elections intensify, RJD candidate and sitting MLA from Parbatta, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, has landed in controversy. The Parbatta police station in-charge, Arvind Kumar, has accused the MLA of issuing threats over a phone call, leading to an FIR being filed against him.
Allegations of Threat via WhatsApp Call
According to the police, the controversy erupted after the SHO submitted a CCA-3 proposal against a local man named Mithilesh Chaudhary, which reportedly angered the MLA. Arvind Kumar alleged that Dr. Sanjeev Kumar made a threatening WhatsApp call to him regarding the matter.
As per the complaint, the call was made from the number 7762091144 to the SHO’s number 9534865122. During the first call, the MLA allegedly questioned, “Why did you submit a CCA-3 proposal against my man, Mithilesh Chaudhary? This will cause you trouble.” The SHO further claimed that in a second call, the MLA’s tone became more aggressive, warning, “You did wrong, and you will face the consequences. This election will bring major problems for you.”
FIR Registered, Investigation Underway
In the FIR, Arvind Kumar stated that the MLA’s behavior was an attempt to intimidate and threaten a government official. He expressed concerns about possible mental and physical harm resulting from the incident. The police have registered the case and begun an investigation. It is noteworthy that Dr. Sanjeev Kumar recently quit the JDU to join the RJD and is contesting the election from Parbatta.
