Udaipur: What began as a workplace birthday celebration allegedly ended in sexual violence, with police arresting the CEO of a private IT company and two others for the alleged gangrape of a woman manager after a party in Rajasthan’s Udaipur.

Party Invitation and Events Thereafter

According to police, the CEO had hosted a birthday party last Saturday, inviting several colleagues, including the woman who works as a manager in the same firm. As the gathering wound down, other guests left, leaving the woman behind.

‘Offered a Lift, Then Incapacitated’

In her complaint, the woman said the company’s female executive head offered to drop her home. She got into the car, which also had the CEO and the executive head’s husband. During the drive, the accused allegedly stopped at a shop and offered her a substance, after which she lost consciousness. She later regained awareness while being sexually assaulted inside the moving vehicle, despite trying to resist.

Medical Examination and Police Complaint

The woman alleged she was kept in the car until early morning and then dropped at her residence. Experiencing severe pain and weakness, she underwent a medical examination at a private hospital. The medical report confirmed sexual assault, following which she approached the police.

Arrests and Ongoing Investigation

Based on her statement, a case was registered at Sukher police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police arrested all three accused — the CEO, the female executive head, and her husband — and produced them before a court, which granted four-day police remand. The investigation has been handed over to an Additional Superintendent of Police, and further inquiry is underway.
