Ranchi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has questioned prominent astrologer Dr. NK Bera in connection with the ongoing investigation against suspended IAS officer Vinay Choubey. Bera was recently summoned to the ACB office regarding a property transaction related to a flat in Mukund Apartment, Lalpur.

During the probe into Choubey and his associates, investigators found that Priyanka Trivedi—wife of Choubey’s brother-in-law—had purchased a flat in Mukund Apartment. Choubey’s in-laws are also under the ACB’s scrutiny. It was discovered that Trivedi bought Flat No. 1A from Sardar Surendra Singh, who had Power of Attorney for the property.
Bera’s Involvement in the Property Deal
Further inquiry revealed that the flat was originally owned by Dr. Nand Kishore Bera—who turned out to be none other than the well-known astrologer NK Bera. He had given Power of Attorney to Singh in 2012, and the flat was later sold to Priyanka Trivedi in 2017 for ₹43 lakh. Given the financial irregularities flagged in related dealings, the ACB summoned Bera to question him about the transaction.
