Ranchi: BJP state president and MP Aditya Sahu alleged that child theft and kidnapping gangs are actively operating in Jharkhand while the police administration remains silent, as he met the family of a missing child in Ranchi and demanded immediate action.
Meeting the Missing Child’s Family
Aditya Sahu visited Sildiri’s Shankar Ghat and met the family of Kanhaiya Kumar, who has been missing for 55 days. He described the absence of any clue after such a long period as deeply painful, unfortunate and extremely alarming. While consoling the family, he provided essential relief materials including food supplies and blankets. He also announced financial assistance of ₹1 lakh, to be arranged by BJP workers, for the medical treatment of Kanhaiya’s elder brother.
Law and Order Situation Worsening
Sahu said the law and order situation in Jharkhand has deteriorated badly and accused the police administration of being indifferent to the problems of common people, villagers, farmers and the poor. He alleged that while natural resources like water, forests and land are being looted, kidnapping and child-lifting gangs are flourishing. He pointed out that Jharkhand has long been vulnerable to child trafficking and claimed that 413 children have gone missing in the last four years without any trace.
Warning to Administration and Call for Action
The BJP leader said he spoke to the Ranchi SSP over the phone and urged immediate recovery of the missing child. Issuing a clear warning, he said that if the administration fails to take concrete steps and locate Kanhaiya Kumar within a week, a Ranchi bandh will be called. He stressed that the issue goes beyond one family and is about justice, sensitivity and humanitarian responsibility, adding that the struggle will continue until justice is delivered.
