Patna/New Delhi: In a major development within Bihar Congress, all Congress MLAs and MLCs from the state have been summoned to Delhi for an important meeting scheduled on January 23 at Indira Bhavan, where the party’s future strategy and organisational direction will be discussed.
Top Leadership to Attend High-Level Meeting
According to sources, the meeting will be attended by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, and several senior party leaders. The focus will be on evolving a new political strategy for Bihar and strengthening the party’s organisational structure in the state.
Preparatory Meetings Already Held in Patna
Ahead of the Delhi meeting, Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru and state president Rajesh Ram held a meeting on Monday at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna with party office-bearers and legislators. Discussions reportedly included organisational issues and plans for a detailed statewide movement centred around the MGNREGA scheme.
Post-Election Review and Organisational Changes Likely
The January 23 meeting is expected to review the party’s performance after its defeat in the Bihar elections and deliberate on possible organisational reshuffles and future political roadmaps. Senior leadership is likely to address internal challenges and set clear priorities for the coming months.
Factionalism Emerges as Major Concern
Sources indicate that factionalism within Bihar Congress has reached a peak. Recently, a dahi-chura feast organised at the Congress office in Patna saw all six Congress MLAs absent, along with several senior leaders. Reports suggest that leaders unhappy with Rajesh Ram and Krishna Allavaru organised a separate event in Patna, highlighting internal divisions that the Delhi meeting aims to resolve.
