Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing it of corruption and of misleading people in the name of Sanatan Dharma, while indulging in divisive politics.

Allegations Over Swami Avimukteshwaranand Incident

Reacting to the Swami Avimukteshwaranand bathing controversy, Akhilesh Yadav posted on social media accusing the BJP of arrogance and disrespect towards saints and spiritual leaders. He said the party’s ego has surpassed that of Ravana and claimed that BJP leaders no longer respect even religious figures.

Claims of Insult to Sanatan Traditions

Akhilesh Yadav stated that followers of Jagadguru Shankaracharya are deeply hurt, alleging that Sanatan traditions are being insulted. He accused the BJP and its allies of demanding proof and documentation from communities whose religious traditions predate written records.

Accusations of a Larger Conspiracy

The Samajwadi Party chief alleged a broader conspiracy to undermine Sanatan traditions, citing incidents involving saints in Prayagraj and the alleged damage to the heritage of Ahilyabai Holkar in Kashi. He claimed these actions reflect an agenda to weaken Sanatan culture under the guise of governance.

Political Motives and Public Awakening

Akhilesh Yadav further alleged that the BJP’s primary interests are power and money, asserting that the party has no genuine connection with Sanatan Dharma. He said people are now becoming aware and are increasingly speaking out against the BJP government.
