Ranchi: Jharkhand is witnessing fluctuating weather conditions, with rainfall and hail reported in some regions while heat intensifies in others. The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and strong winds across several districts today, with further rain activity expected on April 4 and 5.
Recent Rainfall and Temperature Trends
Over the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in multiple areas. Tenughat in Bokaro received the highest rainfall at 16.4 mm, followed closely by Bokaro Thermal (16.2 mm), Ramgarh (13.2 mm), and Chandil (12.6 mm). Hailstorms were also reported in Bokaro. In terms of temperature, Daltonganj in Palamu recorded the highest maximum at 38.6°C, while Khunti reported the lowest minimum at 18.1°C. Ranchi saw temperatures ranging between 33.8°C and 20.4°C.
Weather Alert and Wind Forecast
The department has issued an alert for April 1 to 7. On April 1, districts including Hazaribagh, Koderma, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla, and Khunti may experience thunderstorms accompanied by winds blowing at 30–40 km/h. Over the next three days, maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 3–4°C.
Rain and Heat Conditions Ahead
On April 2 and 4, regions such as Sahibganj, Pakur, Godda, Dumka, East Singhbhum, and West Singhbhum may witness humid conditions. The department has predicted widespread thunderstorms and rainfall across the state on April 4 and 5, along with stronger winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h.
