Islamabad: Five aircraft of the United States Air Force landed at Noor Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, amid heightened diplomatic activity linked to possible US-Iran talks, triggering global attention.

High-Level Security Deployment at Airbase

According to reports, two aircraft carried US Secret Service personnel and members of Vice President JD Vance’s security team. The remaining three aircraft transported a convoy including Chevrolet Suburban SUVs, helicopters, jamming equipment, and other security logistics.

Noor Khan Airbase, a key facility of the Pakistan Air Force’s Air Mobility Command, has previously been in the spotlight due to past military incidents and strategic importance.

Tight Security in Islamabad for Potential Talks

Pakistan is reportedly preparing to host high-level talks between the United States and Iran at a luxury hotel in Islamabad. Security has been significantly tightened, with restricted movement across the capital and the Red Zone cleared as a precaution.

The US delegation is expected to be led by JD Vance, accompanied by senior officials including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Conflicting Reports on Iran’s Participation

While some reports suggest that Iranian representatives, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Abbas Araghchi, are expected to attend, Iran’s state media has denied these claims, stating that its leaders remain in Tehran.

Additional reports from international agencies have added to the confusion, with some indicating that Iranian officials may have already reached Pakistan.

Uncertainty Over Talks Continues

The situation remains unclear as contradictory reports emerge regarding the scheduled negotiations. Iran has reportedly maintained that discussions will not proceed unless a ceasefire is extended to Lebanon, further complicating the diplomatic scenario.
