Ranchi: A major development has emerged in the petrol bomb attack on the RSS office at Nivaranpur in Ranchi, with police sources revealing that the arrested accused have links to terrorist organisations. The disclosure came after an encounter on Thursday, following which security and intelligence agencies have moved to high alert.

Terror Connections and NIA Link

Sources indicate that interrogation of the arrested accused has revealed connections to terrorist outfits, and that the NIA had also been looking for these individuals. Investigators believe the terror links were the motivation behind carrying out the attack on the RSS office.

Encounter During Escape Attempt

On Thursday, one of the arrested accused broke a jail window and attempted to escape, snatching a weapon from a policeman in the process. Police opened fire to stop him, hitting him in the leg. He was subsequently rearrested and hospitalised for treatment.

Investigation Widened

Interrogation of the injured accused and others has yielded important information. Police are now investigating their contacts, funding sources, and possible network connections. Security agencies have joined the probe as the investigation scope has been significantly expanded. The petrol bomb attack on the RSS office had taken place late Tuesday night, following which police had acted swiftly to make arrests.
