Accused Arrested from Ring Road Hotel

A joint team of police and military intelligence apprehended the accused from a hotel located on Ring Road. The arrested individual has been identified as Gautam Kumar, a resident of RTC School, Lovekush Tower, under Ranchi Sadar police station area. A large number of fake appointment letters and other documents were recovered from his possession.

Fake Army and MES Documents Recovered

According to police, the accused would extort money from young people by promising them government jobs, gaining their trust by showing fabricated documents and appointment letters purportedly linked to Army or MES recruitment. Investigation revealed that several young people had been defrauded using this method. During the probe, documents seized by police were found to include multiple fake papers related to the Army and Military Engineering Service, including materials designed to make the fraudulent recruitment process appear genuine.

According to the FIR filed in the case, complainant Yogesh Kumar had paid Rs 6.50 lakh through online transfer. Police are now working to determine how many others are involved in the broader network and where the fake documents were being prepared. Following Gautam Kumar’s arrest, police are investigating the roles of the other named accused, while also gathering information about other victims defrauded by the gang and additional individuals connected to the network.
