Patna: The Patna Civil Court once again received a bomb threat on Friday, triggering panic across the court premises after an email warned that the entire building would be blown up.

Panic Spreads as Court Premises Evacuated

As news of the threat spread, chaos broke out among advocates, staff and others present at the court. Police and security agencies were put on alert, and as a precaution, the main gate of the court was shut and the entire premises evacuated. Security teams subsequently launched a search operation across the complex, examining different sections closely. Given the seriousness of the threat, both a bomb disposal squad and a dog squad were called to the spot.

Police Investigate Source of Threat Email

Police are working to trace the origin of the email. The threat has left advocates, staff and visitors to the court anxious and frustrated. Court proceedings were disrupted on Friday as a result, causing difficulties for people who had travelled from far-off areas for case hearings and bail-related work. This is not the first time the Patna Civil Court has received such a threat — repeated incidents of this kind have raised serious questions about the security arrangements at the court premises.
