Application for UPSC Engineering Services and Geo-Scientist preliminary examinations from today

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release the notification for Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2022 and Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination 2022 today. The notification for both the preliminary examinations will be released on the official website of the commission, upsc.gov.in. With this notification, the process of applying for the Preliminary Examination will also start. Interested candidates will be able to apply through the online application form to be activated on the Commission’s application portal, upsconline.nic.in. UPSC has fixed 12 October 2021 as the last date for online application for both the preliminary examinations

In addition, the Union Public Service Commission had announced the date of UPSC, ESE and GSE Prelims exam through the recently released exam calendar for the year 2022. According to the commission’s schedule, the Engineering Services Preliminary Examination and Geo-Scientist Preliminary Examination are to be conducted on 20 February 2022.

 As per the notification issued by UPSC for the Engineering Services Examination of the year 2021, candidates willing to apply for the examination must have passed Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Engineering from a recognized university or other higher education institution. Also, the age of the candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 1st January in the year of examination.  However, candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, etc.) will be given relaxation in age limit as per government rules. Similarly, as per notification of Geo-Scientist Preliminary Examination 2021, only those candidates who have obtained Master’s degree in Geology or related fields from a recognized University and age as on January 1 in the year of examination less than 21 years and not more than 32 years can apply. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be given relaxation in the age limit. For more details refer to the notification to be issued by UPSC.
