The election campaign in the first phase of the Bihar panchayat election will end today at 5 pm. The first phase of polling will be held on September 24 in 12 blocks of 10 districts. At present, the election process is going on for three phases in the Panchayat elections. Today is the last day for nominations for the third phase seats.
In the first phase, 15,328 candidates have filed nominations for various posts. Out of these, 858 candidates have been elected unopposed. At the same time, no candidate filed nomination papers for 72 posts. In total 8611 candidates have filed nomination papers for 2,233 posts of Gram Panchayat members and 3225 candidates filed nomination papers for 2233 posts of Gram Kachari Panch.
Till September 21, 57 thousand 702 candidates have filed nomination papers for the third phase seats. Out of these 650 candidates have applied online. For the third phase seats, 27 thousand 709 males and 29993 females have filed their nominations.
In the first phase, there are 14 panchayats in Kudra block of Kaimur district, 9 panchayats in Dawath block of Rohtas district, 6 panchayats in Sanjhauli block, 19 panchayats in Belaganj block of Gaya district, 14 panchayats in Khijrasarai block, Govindpur block of Nawada district. In addition, there are 9 Panchayats and 15 Panchayats in Aurangabad Block of Aurangabad District and 14 Panchayats of Kako Block of Jehanabad District, 8 Panchayats of Sonbhadra-Vanshi-Suryapur Block of Arwal District, 10 Panchayats of Tarapur Block of Munger District. Voting will be held in 20 panchayats of Dhaureya block of Banka district. Out of these 10 districts, districts like Banka, Gaya, Kaimur are Naxal affected.
