A major road accident took place in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning. Here a tourist bus and truck collided head-on, near Baburi village in Deva area. 9 passengers died on the spot in this accident, while 27 people were injured. Many of them are in serious condition. All the injured are being shifted to the hospital. The bus was going from Delhi to Bahraich. It had around 60-70 passengers. It is being told that the truck and the bus collided to save the cow that suddenly came on the road.
SP Yamuna Prasad said that the relief and rescue process has been started. The collision was so strong that both the vehicles got blown up. The truck was loaded with sand. JCB was called on the spot. With its help, the bus and the truck were separated. Many dead bodies and passengers were badly trapped. Passengers were pulled out after cutting the vehicles with gas cutters. Efforts are on to identify the dead bodies.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the accident. At the same time, District Magistrate Dr. Adarsh Singh also reached the district hospital and took care of the injured. He has announced Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the dead and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
