Fuel prices hike for fourth consecutive day, petrol in Mumbai at Rs.113, diesel at Rs. 104

New Delhi, Oct 23: Petrol and diesel prices were raised for the fourth day in a row across the country on Saturday.

Petrol prices in the national capital climbed by Rs 0.35 to Rs 107.24 per litre, while diesel prices increased by the same amount to Rs 95.97 per litre.

In Mumbai, a litre of petrol costs Rs 113.12 and a litre of diesel costs Rs 104.00.

In Kolkata and Chennai, petrol and diesel cost Rs 107.78 and Rs 99.08, respectively, while in Chennai, they cost Rs 104.22 and Rs 100.25.

Rates have been raised across the country and vary by state, based on the amount of value-added tax imposed.

The country’s growing fuel prices are not going to go away anytime soon. The central government is in talks with a number of oil-exporting countries about oil supply and demand, but there is no chance of fast price relief.

According to ANI, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has expressed worries about oil pricing, supply, and demand to the main oil-producing countries, according to a source.

“As crude oil prices rise internationally, the petroleum ministry has called on the energy ministries of many countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Russia and others,”said a source.
