Ranchi, Oct.30: ‘Al Quida’ and ‘Al Qaeda in Indian SubContinent (AQIS)’ have developed different modules in West Bengal and Kerala. Abu Sofiyan of Chatra district in Jharkhand was part of this conspiracy.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against him on Friday in Special NIA court, New Delhi. The case related to the matter is RC-31/2020/NIA/DLI).

The situation arose after the NIA on September 11 last year registered a case against Murshid Hasan @ Sofiq and other members of the AQIS module active in Delhi, West Bengal and Kerala and started a probe. who were in the advanced stage of conspiracy to execute terrorist attacks in different parts of the country.

Investigation revealed that Abu Sufiyan was involved in a conspiracy with other co-accused for furthering the activities of AQIS in India. Earlier, a search was conducted at his premises in Murshidabad, West Bengal in 2020, in which various incriminating materials used for making bombs/IEDs were recovered.

Further investigation revealed that he had gathered technical know-how online for making bombs and had purchased raw materials and created a storage dump in his house with the intention of fabricating IEDs.
