Maharashtra civil hospital fire: One more death reported, toll rises to 11

Ahmednagar, Nov 6: One more casualty was reported in the Ahmednagar Civil hospital fire incident that happened this morning. With this, the death toll has risen to 11, informed the District Health Officer, Ahmednagar.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the families of the people who died in the fire incident.

Anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire in a hospital in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also ordered a probe into the tragedy and announced Rs 5 lakh compensation for the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Health Minister, Rajesh Tope has announced an ex gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh each for the family members of those who were killed in the incident.  He also said that the District Collector had been ordered to conduct the inquiry of the incident and to submit the report in a week’s time.
