Ranchi, Nov.5: The BJP, the main opposition party in Jharkhand, today cornered the JMM-led UPA government in the state on the issue of not reducing Value Added Tax (VAT) being levied on petrol and diesel.
Party state president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash organising a press conference at the party state headquarters at Harmu said that after the union government reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel price as many as 14 NDA-ruled states and some non-NDA ruled states including Odisha, Sikkim and Rajasthan reduced VAT levied on petrol and diesel to give relief to common people but the same step is still awaited in Jharkhand.
Saying this, Prakash said that ‘appearances of the Hemant Soren government are deceptive and it should stop shedding crocodile tears.’
Prakash, on the occasion, also demanded an impartial probe into the matter of JPSC PT result saying irregularities are clearly reflected in the result coming from Sahibganj, the constituency of the chief minister and Lohardaga, the home district of finance minister, and Latehar.
Prakash also raised the issue of cancellation of recruitment examination organized for appointment of driver for driving jail vehicles, excise constables, ANMs, graduate-level officials and threatened of agitation for the justice to affected youths.
