Dhanbad, Nov 16:Factional feud in the Congress district unit came to the fore again on Tuesday as top leaders of the party skipped the rally against the price hike.
The rally took out from Joraphatak to Purana Bazar Panit Tanki under executive president Ravindra Verma in the morning against the price rise by the central government. But interestingly most of the senior leaders, including newly appointed state working president Jaleswar Mahto, district president Brajendra Prasad Singh and other leaders skipped the rally.

Executive president Ravindra Verma said that he had informed all senior leaders, including Brajendra Prasad  Singh. “  Brajendra Prasad Singh all of sudden in the morning called me and informed that he got unwell so he would not able to attend the rally.  Since state working president Jaleswar Mahto is in-charge of other districts, he did not attend,” said Verma. Notably, the Dhanbad unit of Congress is factions ridden.  One faction is led by district president Brajendra Prasad Singh while working president Ravindra  Verma reportedly leads another group. Both factions avoid each other’s programme whenever it is organized in the district. Both Brajendra Prasad Singh and Jaleswar Mahto did not reply to the telephone calls. A senior leader of the party while requesting not to be quoted said that executive president Ravindra Verma had organized the programme.  The credit for its success would have gone in favour of Verma. So not to speak of the district president or state working president even second-rung leaders of the party did not come to participate. However, while addressing the rally Ravindra Verma warned the central government that agitation would be accelerated in villages if the price rise is not brought down. “ People would be aware of price hike to throw out the Narendra Modi government,” he said.
