Daltonganj, Dec 3: A 36 years old woman at a village under the Barwadih block in Latehar has been found Covid positive. The identity of the woman and her village has been withheld by the authorities for privacy issues.
Civil surgeon Latehar, Dr Haren Chandra Mahto, has confirmed that the woman has tested positive in the TrueNat test on December 1. However, she is asymptomatic and doing fine.
She has been kept isolated at her home as she declined to move out citing reservation that she will find it hard to spend her days in a government facility.
The CS said that the Barwadih community health centre (CHC) doctors are keeping a close watch on this woman’s health conditions. Her RT-PCR test will be conducted soon for a further confirmatory test.
According to sources, the woman has no travel history. She is also not a migrant worker. Health personnel are out for ‘contact tracing’ of this woman.
The Additional Chief Secretary (health) Arun Kr Singh has also taken note of this case. Secretary to the Chief Minister, Vinay Choubey, is also said to have taken cognizance in the matter.
Barwadeeh is a railway junction and has a vast colony of railway personnel who travel back and forth to other states. So, it is very difficult to keep a record of people who enter or leave the place every day. Moreover, people here have stopped wearing masks as well which has increased the risk of corona among the public.
CS Mahto has appealed to the eligibles who so far are unvaccinated either in terms of their first dose or of the second dose despite their due dates long over, to take the jab without any more delay.
