Chief Justice hands over 27 compassionate job letters to kin of deceased CCL employees at National Lok Adalat

Ranchi, Dec 11: Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Dr Ravi Ranjan handed over 27 compassionate appointment letters and two letters of payment of monetary compensation to the female dependents of deceased employees of Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) as per pre-litigated matters at the National Lok Adalat held today at Jharkhand High Court.

A total of one lakh one thousand eight hundred and fifty pre-litigation cases were executed in the court and 22652 pending cases were executed as well as settlement in cases worth Rs 115 crore across the state.

According to the calendar of NALSA, the National Lok Adalat was organized by JHALSA, as well as by the High Court Legal Services Committee in the Jharkhand High Court. A total of 7 benches were constituted in the Jharkhand High Court.

National Lok Adalat held at Ranchi Civil Court disposed of a total of 12000 cases and settlements worth Rs 331802125 (Thirty-three crore eighteen lakh two thousand one hundred and twenty-five).

The total cases executed include 7000 cases of pre-litigation and 5000 pending cases relating to cases of criminal conciliation, traffic, product, forest, measurement, railway and banking.

One of the claimants, Munshi Shaw received a compensation of Rs 27 lakh from the hands of Principal Judicial Commissioner Arun Kumar Rai.

Earlier today, on the instructions of the Executive Chairman of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, the inauguration programme of the National Lok Adalat was completed at the Civil Court.

The last time National Lok Adalat was organized on September 11, 2021, which was again organised after a gap of 3 months.

On the occasion, DALSA Secretary Kamala Kumari said that 52 benches have been constituted to make the National Lok Adalat a success and the litigants can settle their claim by going to their respective benches.

Arun Kumar Rai said that litigants get easy justice through Lok Adalat which saves their money and time.

Additional Judicial Commissioner Sudhanshu Kumar Shashi said that National Lok Adalat is an opportunity to reduce the judicial burden which increased during the corona period by disposing of the maximum number of cases.
