Daltonganj, Jan 12: A board of four doctors namely R K Ranjan, John F Kennedy, J Lakra and Jayant Ghosh of MMCH Daltonganj conducted the autopsy of the sub inspector Lalji Yadav who was found hanging in his room in the premise of the Nawa Bazar police station in Palamu on Tuesday.
The post mortem was conducted in the morning on Wednesday, January 12 at 8.15 a.m.
Medical superintendent of MMCH Dr Dilip Kr Singh had notified the board of four doctors for the post-mortem of Yadav.
“Our four doctors did the post-mortem with professionalism and medical precision. Videography of the autopsy was also done,” said Dr Singh.
As the sub inspector had hanged himself with a muffler, it was there around the neck and was removed at the time of the autopsy. The body of the sub inspector was carefully maintained in the position that it was earlier, otherwise the muffler would not have been around his neck till his autopsy began.
Sources said the administration was keen to get the autopsy done on Tuesday night itself but a letter from the government came in the way which clearly forbids post mortem in cases of death followed by rape, homicidal case, suicidal case and case of other heinous nature to be done at night.
According to hospital sources, the family of the deceased police officer was adamant about a repeat post mortem of Yadav at the RIMS Ranchi, which the board of four doctors who conducted the post mortem were hesitant to recommend because Yadav’s case was a straightforward case of hanging to death with no hint of foul play.
