Ranchi, Jan 28: The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) on Friday assured representatives of the state government that power cuts and load shedding will stop in seven districts of DVC’s command area of the state. The DVC assured this at a meeting held at the Project Bhawan between the officials of DVC and Ministers Jagarnath Mahato and Minister Rameshwar Oraon along with other representatives of the state.

After the meeting, Minister Mahto said that the issue of payment of dues between DVC and the state government is on the verge of being resolved. The complete accounting process will begin on Monday.

MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu, who was present during the meeting, said that since 2016 the issue of payment of DVC and the state government has continued. In 2016, the state government had paid over Rs 11.5 crore to the DVC. There are also supposed talks of DVC adjusting it in the bill.

Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto had called the DVC chairman to Ranchi to discuss the matter of power cuts in the DVC command areas. The DVC chairman was present on the occasion along with his entire board at the meeting.

Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Secretary of Water Resources Department, Chairman of Pollution Control Board, Secretary of Revenue and Land Reforms Department, besides JBVNL officials were present during the meeting.
