Daltonganj, Feb 2: Nilamber Pitamber University has geared up to conduct its pending examinations following the ease in Covid curbs and restrictions given by the state government.

Giving this information, the pro vice chancellor of NPU Dr Deepnarayan Yadav told the media persons at a press conference today that the pending examinations will be held in strict adherence to the protocol of Covid appropriate behaviour.

“Our students appearing at the examinations are in the 18+ age group. The university believes they must have taken at least one dose or even two doses vaccinated,” he said.

The pro vice chancellor appealed to the prospective examinees and their guardians to ensure their wards are vaccinated.

Yadav made it clear that in the event of students found no dose vaccinated, the university will not keep them away from the examinations but the management’s emphasis is that all 18+ students must be vaccinated and co-operation of the guardians is solicited.

“But our emphasis is that all 18+ students must get vaccinated and co-operation of the guardians is solicited,” he added.

The pro VC further said, “We have a huge backlog of the university examinations due to the frequent Covid curbs. We will be taking off the examinations at a short notice.”

Students should have 21 days with them from the first day of notice of the examination schedule, according to Yadav.

The pro vice chancellor said as these examinations are the pending ones and hence the 21 days slot do not apply besides students have been time and again reminded to be ready to take the examination at the shortest of notice.

The university is going to start examinations for MBA, BSc Nursing, BDS, and MCA and other courses from February 7.

Similarly, the university is going to start examinations for UG old courses and 6th semester from February 14.

Two senior officials of the university examination office Dr S K Pandey and Dr M K Deepak said, “We have more than two dozen pending university examinations ranging from the MBBS to mainstream courses and that we are determined to get started.”

“Our hands are full with pending examinations which we plan to get over by April if all goes well with the state’s health front,” added the Pro VC.

Schedules of the post graduate examinations will follow after the pending examinations are thinned out.

Sources said the VC of Nilamber Pitamber University Dr R L Singh took time-off to have a brush up with the pro VC and officials of the examination office on the finer points of the press conference before it started.
