Dhanbad, Feb 17: A shop owner identified as Pintoo Sab (32) was slain by a sharp weapon due to a property dispute. The incident happened in Dhanbad near Central Hospital of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) under Saraidhela police station of coal city on Wednesday night.

According to police, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. last night.  Pintoo Sab was returning to his house along with his uncle Satendra Sab on a bike after closing his shop at night. Suddenly, two bike-borne criminals intercepted him on the road and stabbed him with a sharp weapon on the neck near his ear after an altercation.

Pintoo was admitted to the Central Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Satyendra Sab said that Pintoo’s family has a land dispute with his elder uncle and they might have a role in his murder.

Satyendra Sab, who was the lone witness on the spot, did not identify the killers and said that when the altercation started with Pintoo, he went to call people at the shop. Hearing noises, he returned to the spot but the killers had already fled by then. Pintoo was bleeding profusely and his bike was lying on the road.

“The shop owner was killed by a sharp weapon. In the initial report, a family dispute is said to be the reason for the murder. Killers are being identified. So far, the victim’s family has not filed a complaint,” said  Saraidhela police station officer-in-charge Kishore Tirkey.

The police officer who reached the spot immediately after getting information recovered a mobile which is believed to be of the killers.
