Dhanbad, April 6: Rattled by the problems being faced by examinees, the students unions of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) have urged Vice-Chancellor (VC) Mukul Narayan Dev to extend the date of filling PG semester-1 examination form and holding the second internal examination.

The Akhil Jharkhand  Chhatra Sangh, the students’ wing of the All Jharkhand Students Union ( AJSU),  on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the V-C and demanded correction in the registration form of some students, extending the date of filling examination form for PG Semester-1 and holding the second internal examination in different faculties.

Today was the last date of filling the form for PG Semester-1 examination without fine and with a fine, it would be accepted till April 8. Examination of PG Semester-1  is scheduled from April 19.

Dev, who is vice-chancellor of Vinoba Bhave University (VBU) Hazaribagh and holds additional charge of BBMKU Dhanbad, was not present in the Dhanbad office on Wednesday. “  We talked to him on the telephone and apprised the Vice-Chancellor about the problem being faced by the students and requested him to extend the date. The V-C assured to issue an order,” said Vishal Mahto, president of  Akhil Jharkhand Chhatra Sangh.

Meanwhile, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has also supported the demand. NSUI district president Gopal Krishan said that several students have complaint about this problem especially about missing the second internal examination which carries importance for them. “ The NSUI has also asked the V-C  to hold a second internal examination,” said Gopal Krishan.

Akhil Jharkhand  Chhatra Sangh president Vishal Mahto pointed out that due to snags in the server, registration of some of the students, who came from other universities, is full of errors.  They are facing massive problems in filling up examination forms. “ So the date of filling the examination form without fine must be extended,”  he said. Mahto further added that since the university had been closed for the last three days, the woes of students increased many fold.

He said that the university should make an alternative arrangement so that students could be saved from making rounds of office.
Vikash Kumar, Suraj Sharma, Bittu Mahto, Vivek  Mahto were other members of the delegation.
