Saryu Roy to start campaign for a clean river

Ranchi, May 2: Independent legislator Saryu Roy will organise Damodar Utsav at Chulha Pani on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra on June 9.

 

Prior to this, the legislator will start a Damodar Abhiyan on May 5 from Dhanbad that will reach Chulhapani via Bokaro and Ranchi.

 

Before Damodar Utsav, the legislator will also organise a campaign to save Subernarekha. The campaign will start on the occasion of Bio-Diversity Day on May 22 from Nagri and then reach Musabani on May 25.

 

Addressing a press conference, Roy said as part of the campaign a meeting with the management of different industrial units discharging polluted water in the rivers will be organised. Apart from this, he said a meeting with the officials of the state pollution control board will also be organised.

 

Roy, on the occasion, also informed that Van Mahotsava will also be organised in July. Prior to this, he said, it will be planned how to plant saplings along the rivers.
