Varanasi, May 17: The two commissioners were given two days to file their findings on the Gyanvapi Mosque inspection by a local court in Varanasi today.

However, the Court has ordered to remove Advocate Ajay Mishra, the Court commissioner. For exposing survey information to the media, Advocate Mishra was fired from his position.

The survey report will now be submitted by the remaining two commissioners. Vishal Singh, a special attorney commissioner, had filed a motion with Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar earlier today, requesting two days to incorporate all relevant details about the disputed site in the court commission report in the Gyanvapi survey, which is nearly complete.

The Petitioners (Hindu devotees) have also filed an application with the Court, requesting that a new survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque be conducted. The petitioners want the wall on the north side of ‘Shivling’ and the basement facing ‘Nandi’ surveyed.

On May 16, the Court was informed that during the survey, the court-appointed Advocate Commissioner discovered Shiva Linga inside the Gyanvapi Mosque grounds. The Court had ordered the location/area to be sealed as a result of this.
