Barkagaon (Hazaribagh), Aug.28. Adani Foundation has adopted 70 new TB patients and distributed nutrition kits to them during a programme organized at the Community Health Centre premises, Barkagaon, Hazaribagh under the Gondalpura mining project. All these patients were provided with the third phase nutrition kit under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Nikshay Poshan Yojana’.
Medical Officer in-charge of Barkagaon, Dr. Avinash Kumar said in the programme that Adani Foundation is continuously providing nutrition kits to TB patients, which is highly commendable. He appealed to patients to consume these nutrition kits and said that awareness about TB is very important. This disease can be cured soon by eating nutritious food, he added. Kumar appealed to the villagers to get the TB test done immediately to detect even the slightest symptoms. He said that there is a cure for this disease, so one should not try to hide it. The quality and quantity of nutrition kit meals have also been increased by the Foundation, which is welcome, said Dr. Avinash.
The people present during the programme also took an oath to make the country TB free. The kit contained food items like Horlicks, Chyawanprash, Arhar Dal, Chana, Jaggery, Green Moong and Mustard Oil, one kg each. All these patients belong to different villages of Barkagaon block, which have been adopted by the Adani Foundation. Most of the 60 TB patients adopted earlier have recovered. Gondalpura Mining Project Head Dharmendra Dubey, CSR Manager Mohit Gupta and Sharad Mishra and others were present on the occasion.
DC Hazaribag honours Adani Foundation
Earlier, Hazaribagh’s Deputy Commissioner, Nancy Sahay, had honoured Adani Enterprises Limited’s Gondalpura mining project head Dharmendra Dubey by giving a memento and a citation for better work in the field of TB. Nutrition kits will be provided to the patients for the next six months by the Adani Foundation.
